A couple iphone shots of sunset light and clouds around 11 pm.
This has been a legendary Anchorage summer [well, at least the last week or so of it].

night table

I made a couple bedside tables.  About 18x18x18 with 1x pine sides and base and 1x rough sawn cedar tops.  There’s an internal structure of four 2×3 posts that I salvaged from a couple old triangular frames that were part of my dad’s vertical drafting board that he built in the ’60s.  They were the old, pre-1970 lumber size, i.e. 1-5/8″ instead of 1-1/2″.  I liked thinking about him and his old office in Seattle.  It started raining while I was working on them in the back yard, but I moved the saw under a tree, covered the work with a tarp and kept on building.

The crabapple tree was planted by the previous owners of my house but I have been taking care of it for eight years now.  Moose really made a mess of it this spring, and I had to do some pruning to fix it up.  But it just seems to get better each year.  Look at all those flowers!  Amazing.
