With a lot of help from Diane [brute force; bubbliness] and Curtis [massive woodworking tips and tricks] I got a replacement porch built at my Hoyt St. house.

The porch that used to be there was actually the floor of an insensitive arctic entry addition that I tore down in 2002.  There was about a two foot deep excavation under the former entry that we filled in with rock, after mounting some strips of plywood to keep the rocks from spilling under the [foundation-less] house.  Then floated and levelled a couple of pressure treated 6×6 sleepers and framed the porch up from there.

It turned out really nice.
