10 or 12 miles in, the Hope Highway dips down to close to the high water mark of Turnagain Arm. I stopped at this little pull-off on the way in to take this photo before the Gull Rock hike. [And on the way back, stopped at the same place to eat two hard-boiled eggs!]

The crabapple tree was planted by the previous owners of my house but I have been taking care of it for eight years now. Moose really made a mess of it this spring, and I had to do some pruning to fix it up. But it just seems to get better each year. Look at all those flowers! Amazing.

The scene on my street yesterday afternoon. This was enough to break Anchorage’s all time snowfall record. I was comfortable inside watching a baseball game.
